Grants
In order to assist schools and districts with both competitive and formula grants available through the California Department of Education, Region 3 provides basic information about the programs, technical assistance in grant preparation, grooming, and implementation, and site visits. To ensure legal compliance with program parameters Region 3 staff work with schools to help them monitor each program's progress. Additionally, assistance is provided so that schools can contact other sites that are currently implementing similar programs or sites that have developed best practices in staff development and technology integration. Networking for additional resources is also provided.
As new grants become available through the California Department of Education, Region 3 will disseminate that information and ensure eligible schools are made aware of the opportunity and process. This dissemination takes place through the Region 3 Web site, mailings and listserv
All technology education grants require schools to have technology plans in place that meet criteria developed by the California Department of Education. Region 3 helps districts develop and align technology plans to meet this criteria.
Please be aware that as programs develop and mature, policy and procedures can change. As the California Department of Education updates this information, Region 3 does its best to pass it on to schools and districts in a timely manner.
