Technical Assistance

TechSETS—Professional Development and Resources for Technology Support Staff

Services include:

Identifying existing professional development for technology support staff and negotiating reduced participation fees

Identifying existing gaps in access to appropriate professional development for technology support staff and providing solutions for filling those gaps

Collecting networking and technical support tools and resources

Establishing and maintaining a system for dissemination of tools and resources as well as professional development for technology support staff.

CSIS—California School Information System

The CSIS Mission is to:

Build capacity of Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to implement and maintain comparable, effective, and efficient student information systems that will support LEA daily program needs and promote the use of information for educational decision-making by school-site, district office and county staff.

Enable the accurate and timely exchange of student transcripts between Local Education Agencies and to post secondary institutions.

Assist Local Education Agencies to transmit state reports electronically to the California Department of Education, thereby reducing reporting burden of LEA staff.

DCP—Digital California Project

The power and promise of the Internet has forever changed the face of education in California. Networks have not only revolutionized how we work and communicate – they have broadened the horizons of our classrooms and expanded the minds of students across the State.

The Digital California Project is a multi-million dollar effort designed to build the necessary network infrastructure needed to prepare California’s schools to take advantage of tomorrow’s advances in network technology. In essence, we are developing an advanced-services network to serve the entire K-20 education and research community.

CENIC—Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California

CENIC's mission is to facilitate and coordinate the development, deployment and operation of a set of seamless and robust intercampus communications services capable of supporting advanced research and education applications in order to further California’s leadership in higher education and research.
