Technology Planning Support

The Department of Education requires that every school district in California has a state approved technology plan in order to be eligible for State or Federal funding for technology. CTAP Region 3 provides support to districts for the development of State approved technology plans. Below you'll find links to CTAP Region 3 and Department of Education resources for technology planning. If you district appears on this List of Region 3 districts with technology plans that expire on June 30, 2009, then you should be revising your plan this year.

New Techonlogy Planning Workshops Scheduled:

Technology Planning Writing Workshops
These workshops will offer about thirty minutes to one-hour of updates, Q&A, and the remainder of the time will be for you to write and receive individual assistance on your technology plans. Please complete and return registration flyer for any of the workshops below.

CTAP 3 has set up this Moodle site to support districts who are writing or revising their district technology plans. To get a registration key for the site, please contact the Region 3 office at 916-228-2748.

You'll find resources for revising your technology plan, addressing the new AB307 requirements and tools to ask questions and share information about technology planning with other district representatives and CTAP staff.

2008-09 Tech Planning Cycles

Technology Plans are due local CTAP Regions by the dates below:

** NOTE: If you are using your technology plan to qualify for Erate in 2009-10, you must submit your plan to CTAP by the December 5th Cycle B date. This is to ensure that the state will have your plan approved in order to meet the January and February 2009 deadlines for submitting your Erate forms.
